hmm.. as many of u guys out there already know that the "life changing event" of my life has came, and that although i initially thought that i'd be a welcomed change, now i'm not too sure. i mean am i doing the right thing..? well, i'm sure many'll just say that i'm having butterfiles cos i'm leaving something i'm so familiar with - my comfort zone - and jumping head-first into something new and unknown to me..

will it be a change for the better or for the worst? well, i guess only time will tell. right now since i've already made up my mind, i guess i'll try to make the best of it. wish me luck guys!

wow .. another week just went by. my my my.. time does fly doesn't it.

anyway this happens to be another GP weekend - this time at Hockenheim, Germany. needless to say as usual we witnessed the usual domination of the world champ Schumey right there in his home track. i'd have to say that on the surface it does look like he's destroying the competition in F1, but if u were to look harder u'll notice that his victories aren't exactly being handed to him on a silver platter u know.. he worked extremely hard for it. its getting even more and more evident now that the competitions' cars are catching up with ferrari's speed and reliability as the season progresses. however, at the end of the day it still boils down to the driver and that's where schumey comes out tops. this domination, my frens, is history in the making.. i think he's the best this sport ever seen, probably even the best this sport will ever see. but thats like so open to debate cos needless to say non-schumey fans are gonna go on and on about how different the cars and technologies were in the days of the F1 drivers of yester-years.. yada yada yada. yeah man, watever.

i can't believe i just spent almost the entire day at midvalley on my day off! and i actually had a pretty good time too. i'm surprised. i mean, we spent the earlier part of the day getting stuff that needed to be gotten, ermm like a new memory card for my digicam (i can't believe that i was suffering with my measely 8mb card when i could've just gotten a 128mb one! 600+ high resolution or over a 1000 lower resolution pics at one go baby!), some stuff from carrefour and some slacks from dockers (which stupidly i forgot to pick up from altering - lucky i'm at midvalley 5 days a week so i'll get it on mon).

well then for the first time ever i had dinner at that thai restaurant - arun-pbhttt heavenly thai, (can't remember the 1st word hahaa). the food was just so-so but it was a lil pricey. i mean 45 bucks for a grilled fish? i'd still recommend just-thai at utama2 anytime (the one next to secret recipe) for good food at a reasonable price.

okay, now for what everyone's been waiting for .. my review on King Arthur. i have to say that i give two thumbs up for what an excellent job the directors and screen writers did. i mean they did the impossible: creating a movie that practically did NOT have a lead actor/actress. i mean, it felt like every character in there was an "extra" (in other words, calla-fare if u understand). the characters was so un-engaging that basically none of them was memorable in any way - heck, i bet if it wasn't for King Arthur being such a legend u'll find urself walking out of the cinema thinking "King who?".. and it didn't help that the storyline was lame (corny as one of my friends put it) and the plot was weak. heck, even the villian looked bored throughout the movie.. he was like "*yawn* i'm definitely not gonna get an oscar for this so lets get just this over with shall we and gimme my damn paycheck" .. even the mindless violence and draggy fight scenes couldn't save the thin plot and kayu acting i tell you. i mean, it was like ppl getting chopped up, blood everywhere and i was actually falling asleep okay? maybe it was cos these action scenes were really unnecessarily draggy. i can only liken it to the singing and dancing in hindi/tamil movies, take em away n what's left is a 15 minute show - u get the picture right?

my conclusion? well, if mindless violence, bad acting and lousy story lines (and not to mention ermm, not so good looking actors) are ur cup of tea then by all means spend that 10 bucks of ur hard earned money on it... but if it isn't but somehow u feel that u REALLY have to watch it, i'd recommend talkin ur fren into getting the DVD and then nick it off them - but don't say i din warn u.

ITS DA WEEKENDS! *YAY* okay having said that what m i gonna do? although i do have some errands that has to be done no matter what by today, i'm damn lazy to go get it done. *sigh* gimme a break.. i'm tired kay? was out at alexis bangsar last nite (wanted a quiet non-club atmosphere for once yesterday, tho i'm sure kim wasnt too happy bout that) .. it was fun, catching up with some frens that i dont get to see much these days (everyone's bz with work n stuff these days).

so anywayyy.. for some reason it had to rain cats and dogs (dinosaurs more like it) when we wanted to leave .. so i had to run in the rain from lotus to jollygreen to get my car - which is exactly why i suspect i've got a splitting headache now. =( (can't be a hangover, din drink that much).

ah well, i'd better get going - need to have my lunch and get a start on my absolutely top urgent errands .. sigh. oh, n i think i'm watching King Arthur tonite in *sigghhh* midvalley (dunno why it HAD to be midvalley) .. will do my usual movie critique later on. stay tuned if u care..

two.... more.... days.... til.... the.... weekend........

sigh, why does the weekend go by so quickly but weekdays never seem to pass? (wait, dont answer that).

anyway, did i mention that i got a haircut in A Cut Above a couple of days back? well, how come after paying more than double the price of my usual cut there aren't any chicks falling at my feet begging for a piece of me? hehehe.. needless to say i'm not going back there for another cut in the near future. (in my opinion, i think my 50% of the cost usual cut looks waay better).

ah well, at least my curiosity of wats such a big deal about these 'designer salons' are satisfied.. btw, just found out that the porsche that's alwiz in midvalley belongs to the boss/owner/creative director of that place.. (just goes to show how many are suckers for "designer cuts")

here we go. a start to yet another boring week. *sigh* well, at least monday went by without too much drama.. work was pretty uneventful, but am definitely not lookin forward to tuesday (wonder if there's any way to fast forward to friday..)

anyway, at least the day ended pretty well, had dinner at this place on jalan imbi - soh key's son's shop (hahaa, weird name eh?) no, i'm not on a 1st name basis with the owner, thats the name of the shop. apparently soh key is this guy who has runs a famous shop sellin fried noodles on imbi (aptly named SOH KEI, or wassit SOO KEI? hmm..) nevermind, anyway his son runs a similar shop right across the road called (yes, u guessed it) SOH KEY'S SON.. i'm not kidding. talk about leeching off ur dad (dad's repution in this case..)

the food wasnt too bad (although have to say that his dad's cooking is way better), but its DAMN EXPENSIVE! had a bowl of "sang har mein" (ermm.. live prawn noodles? =D) and it costed me 30 bucks!! and there was only 1 (ONE!!) prawn in it! *ack* i mean it was good, but definitely NOT rm30 bucks good!! maybe if it was rm20, it'd be try-it-just-one-time good. also had some beef noodles, wasnt too bad either and it only cost rm8 bucks, still quite pricey mind you since its was just a 1 person portion.

ah well, its hard trying to write while watching tv so i guess i'll end it here.. *sigh* tuesday, here i come!

Monday, July 12, 2004

well, here we go again: a brief recap of my weekend:

i actually had a movie marathon yesterday - watched prince and me (hmm, or was it prince and i? nevermind..) most ppls' reaction to that was "whoa!? u watched that show?!" whats wrong with that? i mean, i actually do like julia stiles k? as i was tellin someone earlier, i can't seem to place why or what exactly it is i like about her. i mean, she's not the best lookin nor the most talented actress.. but as a fren put it, she probably has the "attitude", the x factor (okay, i'm getting ahead of myself here) moving on..

the next show i caught (well, there was a 1.5 hr break in between these 2 movies), was spiderman 2. i have to say that this is probably THE best summer movie this year. spidey's jus my fave super hero ever! although the focus of this one is more towards peter parker accepting his "destiny" and coming to terms with him "gift/curse", i still find spidey so kewl. he's just not ur average macho superhero.. those who've watched spidey 2 will know exactly what i mean (ie "this thing's heavy"). another thing is the superb comic to movie adaptation, and that each story is just building onto each other, making room for even more spidey movies in the future. i wonder if anyone noticed that peter's professor only has 1 arm? spidey fans should know that this should be related to another lizard-like villian which i cant remember the name. incidently, spiderman 3 is already confirmed to be released 2006 - cant wait for that. its already quite obvious who the next villians gonna be - the hobgoblin. *yay*

anyway, today was just like every other GP weekends - 2 hrs of F1 cars going around at break neck speeds at some exotic destination and michael schumacher winning the race. *LONG LIVE THE MAESTRO* but today saw a big surprise, the finn with the robot voice actually made it back on the podium. its been so long since that happened that i actually forgot how funny he sounds. hehe.. but u have to give it to kimi that he's one heck of a driver. oh, also read that there're rumours that mika hakkinen's actually reconsidering making a comeback to F1. that should be fun.

anyway, sorry for the long post (i know its annoying cos i personally find long blog entries irritating - esp if at the end of it u realised it was all crap .. haha). i'll stop now.

p/s : happy birthday Didi 7! (ah well, its belated now but heck) many happy returns and remember being a year older doesnt necessarily mean a year wiser. =P

Tuesday, July 06, 2004

it was a pretty terrific weekend. i mean i'd really say everything went pretty well, save the fact that i had to work. (that sucked), but other than that it was alright. read on to find out why:

for starters, greece won the euro cup! YAY! hang on, i'm no greece supporter, but there's a reason to why i was quite happy that they won. okay, important background info - me n some frens had a little pool going, whereby u picked a team put some cash on it and winner takes the pool in event that his/her team won. so i picked france as my choice but unfortunately they were eliminated pretty early on (*sigh* dumb french), so said goodbye to my money. however, the finals got interesting cos though many ppl picked portugal as their winning choice, no one picked greece. so the pool will be returned if a team no one picked won. and yippee cos that was exactly wat happened! kewlnesss.. hehe. feels like a windfalls cos for about 2 wks i thought my money was gone.. =)

then on sunday nite michael schumacher won his billionth grand prix .. haha. enjoy watching him winning over and over again, but at the back of my mind i do feel that f1 is getting alil boring. never thought i'd say this but someone pleaseeeeee get mika hakkinen back in a mclaren already!!!

and oh ya, this is gonna sound so blonde but i think i'm gonna start paying more attention to tennis related news from now on cos Wimbledon champ Maria Sharapova is pretty hot. hehe. and thats just from shots taken of her on the papers. but apparently, i was told (by a envious person no doubt.. hehe) that she looks like a lil girl and that i'd have to be a paedophile to like her (or something to that effect).. watever! =P

Saturday, July 03, 2004

well, i feel sucky today cos instead jus sticking to my usual 1 stick a day, i gave in to temptation and had another stick after dinner today.. *sigh* well, i know its not a good excuse that i had a pretty heavy dinner and all and i really feel shitty bout it. =(

but the upside to it is that i dont feel like i need a cigarette as i usually do at this time.. hehe, although i positively felt like killing myself earlier in the evening (before i had that one extra, glorious stick of ciggie that is.. hehe) - i'm really really sick of the nicotine withdrawal. lemme tell you it sucks. it really does.. the feeling is not one that i can readily describe, but its quite an odd feeling of helplessness, my chest hurts, my lungs feels like it isnt even there anymore, my heart feels like its not beating anymore.. sigh, all i know its that nothings working the way its meant to and its quite uncomfortable really..

a lil bit of advise to all u non-smokers out there: dont start smoking.. and to all u smokers out there: keep on smoking, dont even think of quiting.. ever! (heh heh.. some community msg huh?)

ok, i think i've gotta stop now. i'm not making any sense.. (not that i usually do anyway)
