recently, i've watched 4 seasons of 'queer as folk', and am now halfway thru the 2nd season of 'the L word'. no, dont look at me like that - i'm not gay. a friend of mine highly recommended queer as folk (which is a show about a bunch of gay men - sigh, should've guessed since the friend that recommended it was a gal! loads of hard-bodied naked men. figures), and since i was getting naked men overdose, i thought i'd neutralize it by watching the lesbian equivalent - 'the L word'. :)

so anyway, one striking similarity i noticed between these 2 series (besides the full frontal nudity and the sex scenes every 5 mins or so), is that they stereotyped gay people as really really horny ppl who can't keep their pants on. whether its cheating on their partners, or having random affairs on a daily basis, or better yet - falling in love with ur best friend(s).

i mean whats up with that? well, perhaps these shows are just to show everyone that gay ppl as just as normal as straight ppl, and that they go thru the same probs & issues that straight ppl do, but are their issues really that ermm.. dramatic? are straight ppl's issues even THAT dramatic to begin with?

well, maybe the "issues" and "drama" was turn up a notch (make that a few notches actually), to make it more suitable for a 1-hr drama series, but do ppl really need to see gay ppl in such a negative light? i mean they already have enough negative publicity as it is.

hmm, actually i'm wondering what am i rambling about? i seriously have no idea. ah well, nothing i guess.. i'm just happy to see boobs :) back to the L word..
