who wants to be a rawkstar?!
it was inevitable that following the success of american idol came australian idol, german, malaysian, timbaktu-ian idols .. but rockstar INXS? 1st time i heard that was like what the heck does a bunch of old timers think they're doing starting a reality-based talent show? i was even more doubtful when i found out that the whole point of the series is to recruit a new lead singer to replace their previous singer who erm.. passed on.
well, anyway did not know what to expect when i 1st watched it (this was many, many wks ago) and i'm surprised that the participants are really really good. i mean, i could be biased since the songs they sang (and will sing) are mostly classic rock ballads made famous by the legends such as pink flloyd, guns and roses, nirvana (jus to name few of my faves).
so anyway todays show was no different. it was (as dave navarro put it) epic. its getting harder and harder to pick out who's not good enough to go through to the next round.
Dave's the man - (at the risk of sounding gay) ain't he cool?
Well, anyways today's main battle to not-be-eliminated was between JD and Ty. For the benefit of those who don't watch Rockstar, JD's the badass i'm-in-ur-face-cos-i'm-da-bestest dude while Ty is the "ohh, i'm so nice and i'm so cute that u'd wanna hug me and kiss me and love me forever kinda guy".
"ooooo, look at i.. me is sooOOooo kute"
hmm.. lets me see, this is supposed to be a show looking for a lead singer to front a rockband. badass mofo or cute cuddly spikey haired punk dude? didnt take much to guess who INXS went with rite? siggh.. n Ty actually had the nerve to make a comment that (in my opinion) had a lil hint that INXS' choice was based on the colour of his skin (incidently Ty's an African American dude) rather than his talent. whats up with that dude?! anyone who watched the show care to comment on that? i may hv interpreted the whole sob speech wrongly though.
another thing i just hv to get off my chest. whats up with these ppl on reality shows crying and sobbing away whenever someone (who's ermm their COMPETITOR) gets eliminated. ever wonder whats really going on in their mind at that time?
Ty: "aren't i kute when me acts sad?"
Jordis & JD: "Good riddance to bad rubbish.."
Mig: "let me take a good look at ur face - need to remember how a pathetic loser looks like.. hohoho"
sigh.. how cruel is the world of show biz.
