some updates since my last post: schumey lost his P4 in this afternoon's race because he had to change his engine, which resulted in him being bumped back 10 places to P14. sigh..

so on to the next post..

today's race was pretty uneventful - and basically totally uninteresting fm a tifosi's point of view. i mean c'mon - massa finishing in 5th ahead of michael schumacher? wats up with that man..?!

Fisi on pole..?

yes, as impossible as it may seem fisichella's made it on pole yesterday at sepang. i'd say its a good sign cos almost definitely our friend's going to break down again, so if everyone can just maintain their qualifying position, they can expect free level-up closer to the podium. heh heh..

schumey's on P4, no worries - although button's ahead of him and apparently honda's got the most powerful engine on the grid til date. kimi's on P7, ahead of alonso who's in P8 - good luck trying to get past the iceman, idiot.

anyway, here's the complete qualifying results fm yesterday:

1. fisichella (renault)
2. button (honda)
3. rosberg (williams)
4. m. schumacher (ferrari)
5. webber (williams)
6. montoya (maclaren)
7. raikonnen (maclaren)
8. alonso (renault)
9. klien (red bull)
10. r. schumacher (toyota)
11. couthard (red bull)
12. barrichello (honda)
13. trulli (toyota)
14. villeneuve (bmw)
15. heidfeld (bmw)
16. massa (ferrari)
17. speed (torro rosso)
18. Liuzzi (torro rosso)
19. albers (midland)
20. monteiro (midland)
21. sato (super aguri)
22. ide (super aguri)

so what will the results be? well, it looks pretty cloudy right about now and that can only mean one thing - the rain meister will reign! but lets just all hope it doesnt rain for my sake - dont want to get drenched in the rain. i've been lucky so far - went for every year except the one year that rained, so lets hope this year's no different.

hmmm.. despite getting P1 in bahrain the best schumey could do was a second place. well, looking at it positively you could say that its a big leap fm barely finishing the the points last season to 2nd place in the season opener is a big achievement, but i say baloney! ferrari's are meant to dominate.. 2nd place just doesn't cut it my friend!

anyhoo.. lets just hope that this is just a warm up for ferrari. i just hope that this would be the last podium that #$@& alonso gets for the season. someone needs to do something to wipe that dumb smirk of that idiot's face already.

that said, last weekend's GP was really good. non-stop action thru-out with pretty evenly matched cars all-round. really looking forward to the malaysian GP this weekend. hope to see a ferrari 1-2 this time around (although it seems pretty impossible, seeing what an excellent second driver ferrari has).

Schumey's on pole! Schumey's on pole!!

oh yeah.. its that time of the year once again folks, the start of the 2006 formula one season. gawd, i've missed f1 so much - somehow the alternative "world cup of motorsports" A1 GP doesn't seem to do anything for me despite it being placed in the off-season of f1 (and it doesn't help that all the B & C class drivers who couldn't quite make it to f1 are competing in it).

so anyway, back to the main story -

SCHUMEY'S ON POLE! SCHUMEY'S ON POLE!!

what can i say? would this be the year that ferrari & schumey make their comeback? would schumey's years of experience benefit him more in adapting to the different characteristics of the newly introduced V8 engines? would being able to change tyres make a difference this year since its really proven those @$#% bridgestones suck?

so many questions that will be answered in due time..

i've got a good feeling about this season, but lets not get carried away shall we? lets concentrate on winning the Bahrain GP.. go go schumey!

sigh.. petrol increase again

here we go again, another 30 cents increase in our petrol prices. here's the timeline of the increases since 1990:

pre-90s - RM 0.89
1990 - RM 1.10 (increase RM 0.21)
01/10/2000 - RM 1.20 (increase RM 0.10)
20/10/2001 - RM 1.30 (increase RM 0.10)
01/05/2002 - RM 1.32 (increase RM 0.02)
31/10/2002 - RM 1.33 (increase RM 0.01)
01/03/2003 - RM 1.35 ( increase RM 0.02)
01/05/2004 - RM 1.37 (increase RM 0.02)
01/10/2004 - RM 1.42 (increase RM 0.05)
05/05/2005 - RM 1.52 (increase RM 0.10)
31/07/2005 - RM 1.62 (increase RM 0.10)
28/02/2006 - RM 1.92 (increase RM 0.30)

and what is the result?

93 bucks when my tank wasn't even that empty to begin with. sighhh..

well, if its any consolation at least our prices are still one of the cheapest in the region, and that the main reason is that the government just can't go on subsidizing us anymore. fair enough, i guess since they have been helping us out after all this time.. perhaps we should stop being spoilt brats alwiz asking for hand outs huh?

only thing i'm worried about is although they say there wont be anymore increases this year, whatabout next year? and the next? if every year go up 30 cents or so.. next thing u know we'll be paying like 5 bucks per litre, then what? end up petrol costs more than the monthly payment of the car itself!
