sigh.. its been a sad past couple of weeks in terms of sporting results for me. 1st of all, last week liverpool beat ac milan 5-3 in penalties (it was a 3-3 draw in case u've been living in a cave off late) - it was a sad result for me not because i'm an ac fan, but cos i hate liverpool. HOWEVER, as much as i hate to admit it the goals scored (although probably fixed by the bookies), were simply spectacular - all 3 of em. contradicting comment? well, in a nutshell i hate them n i wished they hadn't scored such excellent goals. =P

then ferrari had to go and screw up the monaco GP last weekend. although both ferraris finished in the points, 7th and 8th jus doesnt quite cut it for me - try harder. and try harder they did. they finished 3rd (barrichello) and 5th (schumey). still not quite what i was looking for, but its an improvement nonetheless. schumey had better start winning races and fast if he wants his 8th title this year. however, one point definitely worth mentioning about this race was our poor unlucky iceman aka the finn with the robotic voice. as surely as he's spot on following mika hakkinen's footsteps in terms of success, he's also seemed to have inherited the poor ol finn's bad luck - which is crashing out on the very last lap of a race he's been dominating. hehehoho, sad? yah, but i'm sorry dude - thats just motor racing. =P

will ferrari and schumey make a come back in a couple of weeks? i certainly hope so. i want 8 stars on my 2006 schumey cap ok?

the pearl of the orient

as many of u may or may not know, i spent my weekend in penang cos it was a long weekend - sunday was wesak day (buddha's birthday..? i hv no idea, hehe) so monday was declared a public holiday. so i took a 4 hour drive down right after work in saturday afternoon.

i'm sure most of u guys have taken trips down to penang and so it'd come as no surprise wat was the 1st thing i did: go for dinner.. haha. i actually went for steamboat and it was pretty good. the fish came in thinly cut slices and was pretty fresh. that along with some meat/fish balls and vege was surprisingly pretty enjoyable since i dont usually like steamboats. maybe cos it wasnt the usual ones u get back home in klang/kl.. this one had a white-ish coloured soup which apparently comes about when u boil pieces of fish in water long enough (dont ask me, honestly they bluff me aso i dunno). i was shocked when the bill came: 4 pax and the bill only came up to 60-odd. cheap as hell. summore it was in a posh restaurant ok? i was expecting at least 160-ish. penang is good. =P so after "saving" a hundred bucks a dinner, i had to go blow it all on drinks at golden sands/shangri-la. a small bottle of fosters cost me 27 bucks pre-tax. ouch.

now dunno if u guys know but i'm this really huge starwars fan - although not so huge til i'm willing to forsake my dignity by showing up in public dressed as luke skywalker (although darth vader is actually ok since there's a mask involved.. hehe). i'm a fan just in the sense that i know the storyline very well, and have been waiting with bated breath for episode III and ever since its release ive been pretty upset i couldnt get tix. so since i was in penang i took a gamble that penang-ites are not so crazy over starwars that they'd drag themselves to the mall to catch the 1st movie. my gawd, was i ever so right. not only tickets were available 20 mins before the show.. the cinema was pretty empty too!

all in all i like episode 3. well, den again i liked episode 1 & 2 also. not because the storyline was superb or anything, but mainly because it explained the original trilogy (or as they say now episode 4, 5 & 6). now after completing the entire trilogy, i have just one question: whats with all this chopping of limbs? let me see.. anakin had his hands sliced off 1st by count dooku, whom he returned this favour too. then samuel l. jackson (watever his character's name was) got his hands sliced by anakin in his confused state, and once again anakin got not only his hands sliced off, but also both his LEGS by obi-wan. then in the original trilogy, luke had his hands sliced off by darth vader, who later got it back from luke right at the end. sigh, looks to me like poor anakin aka darth vader is on the losing end of this whole limb cutting affair. hohoho..

well like i said, all in all it was all good. i like the way episodes 1, 2 & 3 slowly pieced together the whole picture. now i'll just wait for our friendly neighbourhood DVD peddling ah beng to come out with a "limited edition" starwars DVD in order to watch the whole trilogy again. hey, stop rolling ur eyes. there's a geek in all of us ok? =P

well, nothing much more exciting happened thruout the rest of my penang trip. just makan, makan, makan only.. oh wait, i actually dropped by perangin mall. its this dodgy shopping complex which is connected to the even-dodgier komtar - i'm sure u all know what i'm talking about. if u dont, think kota raya. hahahaa.. well, i dunno wat in the world were we doing there but since we had nothing better to do, jus go inside and jalan jalan only la. here's the interesting part. i came to a place thats sorta like the amusement centre of the mall and i saw this booths which at 1st i tot was those photo sticker crap. after walking closer i noticed that it had doors and a tv in it. after a closer examination, i realised it was a KARAOKE booth. u actually put in 2 tokens (50 cents per token), key in ur song title from the booklet supplied and then u can sing! hehehehehhee, i know. dodgy huh? well, the booths are about 3 feet wide and probably 5 feet deep with a tv which is on a stand with some buttons, display and a coin slot and 2 cheapo speakers mounted on the top. well, after all i'm probably never going back there again and also the odds of someone catching me in action is absolutely nil, we actually gave it a shot. it was pretty hilarious - the sound system sucked, i was going blind sitting 1 feet fm the tv screen - but hey, at 1 buck a song what do u expect right? =P

ok ok, this post is getting a lil too long. nothing much happened anyway. oh wait, i attended a wedding, but nothing much happened there.

Q-box: satisfy ur karaoke needs for just rm1 per song.

Sherlin: lets get outta here b4 someone sees us!

RM2 pee

wonder if u guys have heard of the premier toilet charging RM2 per entry at the Ground Floor of KLCC? well, today i finally decided to walk in and see wats the big deal all about. When walking in the 1st thing i noticed was that there was actually many ppl who was queuing up to enter (mostly ladies), which was pretty surprising since the other "non-paying toilets" (the other toilets at KLCC's free), are already pretty clean - well, maybe the gents was okay, not sure about the ladies'. So anyway, upon paying the RM2 "cover charge", u get a free wet-tissue (which i threw away, hrmph) and a ticket stating "RM2" (dunno whether its to be kept as a souvenir, or just to show off to ur mates.. hehe) and then u're all set for probably the most expensive pee in Malaysia.

Well, for one thing the stalls are much bigger than the conventional toilets (duh) and its waaay cleaner than the others - probably cos there's this guy in there all the time cleaning up after each use of the stall. Furthermore, the sinks are a little more complicated - sensors to on and off, mind you- its not ur average 1utama variant sensors it has a sensor for On and Off. Advanced stuff. Not only that.. there's a complete range of Body Shop cleansers etc (Oceanus or something..?) and even perfume! which the guy next to me was spraying all over himself and even into his cap..!!! talk about kiasuism at its worst.

well, it was something new.. at least now there's a story to tell about the RM2 pee at KLCC. heh.. =P
