tiffany rings.. overpriced and impractical - yet so desirable.  Posted by Hello

pasar malam

just went to the pasar malam (nite market) in ss2 n my my my.. jus realised that its been ages that i havent been to one. there's just sooooo much food there. not only that, there're so many things to see - u can get practically ANYTHING there.

well, i just went there to get cheap cds (music albums). apparently it was rm5 each, but for some reason the ah bengs there were charging rm7. however, as alwiz the the price gets lower with volume. being the sucker i am i walked away from the shop with 11 (ELEVEN!!) cds which only cost me rm67 (dont ask me why its that odd figure.. but ah beng, 67.. u know. haha).

sighh.. the joys of piracy. cant live with em, can't live without em either.

caffein

jus read an interesting article in the national geographic (not sure if its this month's tho..). well, its about caffein and basically it said that it generally take about an hour for the caffein in coffees to get into our system after consuming it, therefore making the whole "early morning coffee jolt" a sham.. sorta like the placebo effect (more psychological than anything).

however, its important to note that it is scientifically proven that caffein does increase the flow of blood in the brain and so in a way its actually true when some ppl say that they can't operate without their morning coffee (which also explains why some ppl get headaches when they drink coffee). i wonder if all this is a marketing gimmick funded by starbucks to get the masses to consume more of their overpriced, overhyped coffees to fund their world domination. apparently starbucks opens 4 new stores a month somewhere in the world and hires an extra 200 employees in the process - there's a joke about this too: at the rate their going, they're gonna have to build a starbucks in the parking lot of a starbucks!

souled out

just had dinner at souled out, sri hartamas when the funniest thing happened.. halfway thru dinner there was this commotion and i heard the deejay going on about someone proposing. so needless to say, we kaypoh ppl scanned around the area to see wats up. it was just a couple of meters away from where i was sitting so i had a pretty good view of wat was happening: a guy on his knees holding up a ring (looks like a diamond engagement ring) so everyone was like "woooo.. i do, i do, i do.." u know, the usual stuff. it was only like after a few mins when we realised that the gal doesnt seem to be responding to that guy's "proposal".. she's jus sitting there with her face in her hands. uh oh... after like 15 mins on his knees, the poor guy just kept the ring back into the case and sat down again at the table. oh my gawd.. wats up with that man?! i honestly cannot imagine being that guy at that moment. its like the whole restaurant's eyes was on him - dunno where to hide my face man. sigh.. pity the fool.

oh no! smallville ran its final episode on starworld last week. damn it.. how do i get thru the days not knowing when i'll see my dear kristin again? i can't live this life anymoreeee.... *sob*

hahaa, just kidding guys, dont panic - i'm not THAT psychotic just yet. besides, the season that just ended last week was season ONE (!!), which i've actually already seen most of the episodes when TV3 was playing it a year ago (can u believe a free-to-air channel is playing better shows that a pay-satellite channel?!). furthermore, i believe there are already 4 seasons of smalville available to date. somehow i really wonder what the heck is astro/starworld doing with all our subscription money, its not like their charging us bargain basement price u know. so at least have the damned courtesy to justify ur price hike by showing us some up-to-date shows for a change! if not, just play the 2nd season of smallville already.. i miss kristin already. =P

ju-on 2

finally, i gathered the courage to watch this darned show and all i can say is that i was scaring the shit outta myself. i mean, i have to admit that watching the 1st part was scary but somehow i felt the sequel kinda lost its "edge". well, it was freaky i give u that - but scary..? okay laa, but the 1st one was much better (hmm, i think i say that about ALL sequels!). well, maybe its jus cos after watching seeing the "ghost" so many times already (once in the original jap version, and 2nd time in the english version 'The Grudge'.. read an earlier post if u missed it).

well, if u watched the 1st ju-on and it scared the living daylights out of u and swore u'd never watch the 2nd one, i think its quite safe to say just go ahead and watch it cos the scare factor isnt really there, and i particularly liked the way the story/film was executed.
